The law enforcement officer recently shot in Woodlands Park in Jacksonville was under investigation by the State Bureau of Investigation.The investigation into 48-year-old William Clifton started on May 5, said Special Agent in Charge Mac Warner with the Jacksonville State Bureau of Investigation Office.The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office reached out to the SBI when they learned of allegations against Clifton regarding indecent liberties with a 12-year-old, Warner said.
