The remains found this week in Carteret County have been officially identified as the body of Kristen Bennett, who died of a gunshot wound to the head.Bennett, 24, was reported missing by her mother on Aug. 16 and had last been seen two days prior with her boyfriend Lewis Victor Branche III, also known as Trey Branche, The Daily News reported. Branche was charged by the Carteret County Sheriff's Office with an open count of murder and concealing/failing to report a death on Sept. 4. [...]
