The Stella Volunteer Fire Department treasurer has been arrested for allegedly stealing $12,000 from the VFD over a two-year period.Linda Gibson, 72, of Wetherington Landing Road in Stella was arrested Jan. 16 by the Carteret County Sheriff’s Office and charged with three counts of embezzlement.Gibson, the treasurer for the fire department for 20 years, is accused of embezzling $12,000 between April 2014 and September 2016, according to a press release from the [...]
